Why enrol in this class?

Who is this class for?
Participants aged 15 and above (7 - 14 year olds allowed for BVCC), who are interested in a low impact Karate class and appreciate Karate through deep-diving into Kata (solo forms) in accordance to established Karate traditions.
How long is each class?
60 - 90 minutes
How is this class run?
Each month focuses on a particular kata routine or series, based off a specific Karate school/ system/ tradition.
Based on the selected kata, each class consists of segments covering the basics, movement sequences, analysis and application, and physical conditioning.
The instructor facilitates each segment by extracting and imparting expert knowledge from his/ her Karate experience, with participants helping to uphold a culture of safety, respect, and mutual improvement.
Each class starts and ends with a routine of bowing and "meditation" (personal reflection) to acknowledge one other and appreciate the opportunity to practice.
Class time includes cleaning and maintenance of the practice space and equipment in respect to traditional Karate culture.
With regular practice, participants may choose to be formally assessed via Grading and progressively advance in their Karate study.
