Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do you provide free trials?
> No, we do not provide free trials. This is due to indemnity concerns and the administration policies at our practice venues.
How is practicing Karate and Boxing different at LHA compared to other dojos/ gyms?
> We focus on providing participants with a multi-dimensional platform of enjoying Karate and Boxing.
This means that our programs are not only confined to Karate and Boxing as a one-dimensional discipline (i.e. only as a specific combat sport), but rather as a skillset that can be applied in other ways.
For instance, lovers of sport Boxing can appreciate our Practical Boxing program as a platform to learn and excel at the sport, as much as mixed martial arts (MMA) enthusiasts who are looking to better their boxing game to get an edge in the ultimate fighting arena.
For Karate, LHA offers unique programs depending on how Karate lovers prefer to appreciate the martial art.
Those looking for full-contact Karate training will enjoy our Practical Karate program, whilst those who prefer the solo study of precise body mechanics will relate better to our KATA programs.
Parents/ Guardians searching for a martial arts program that is centered around values-driven education for positive child development can relate to our kids programs- Karate Kid and Karate Cub.
Moreover, instructors at LHA come from diverse backgrounds across styles and professional experience, making LHA a place that welcomes everyone looking to enjoy Karate x Boxing to the fullest.
What is the best way to understand Karate and Boxing before enrolling?
> Visit a class, observe and interact with the Coach-Instructors and other participants when they become available. Contact us before coming!
Is my grade/ belt from another karate/ martial arts school transferable to the Karate class at LHA?
> LHA is not a grade-certifying body and as such, we have no opinions over what belt color a participant wears.
Participants are free to don any color belts they wish to if they choose to be dressed in a Karate dogi for practice.
Above all, a participant's attitude in our classes matters more than the belt they wear and we're not shy to turn away participants who do not embody the values we hold at LHA.
Do you offer Grading?
Instead, we channel all Grading requests to a partner club within our network for the participant to be formally assessed seamlessly.
Am I too old to join?
> If you are above the age of 7 (within the calendar year) and in good general health, you are definitely welcomed to join us.
When in doubt, we recommend seeking advice from a qualified medical professional.
