Here, we practice in a dance studio to accommodate a larger group.
Unlike the Clubhouse, there's no fixed equipment here, though there are plenty of striking pads available to supplement our practice.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Classes
Attendance > [LHA Clubhouse] Given the small group sizes and high demand, we only encourage participants who can commit to attending classes regularly to apply here. During registration, participants should indicate their preferred class slot, although they may attend multiple classes within the week given sufficient credits in a purchased class package. However, a credit will be deducted from the participant for being absent from his/ her allocated slot every 2 consecutive times. [BVCC] No make-up classes are available for being absent from class. Grading > We don't confer any grades/ belts at LHA, hence we do not conduct any Grading at LHA. Participants interested in Grading can express their interest to the Instructor and be graded at a club within the Lionheart network. Participants may need to register for a Grading Preparation Course prior to registering for Grading. Size > We strictly adhere to the class sizes as indicated in each location. This is in the interest of safety and to ensure optimum participant to instructor attention. Given this, prospective participants are advised to sign-up early or be put on a waiting list. Age > With the exception of One on One classes, we strictly adhere to only accepting participants with a minimum age of 7, or have started / will be starting Primary 1 (or its equivalent) education during the calendar year. This is in the interest of safety and to ensure that participants are able to keep up with the technical nature of our classes. Fitness > New participants need not have a high level of fitness, but are required to be fit for light to moderate intensity exercise. When in doubt, we recommend an assessment by a qualified medical professional. Participant Profile > We do not discriminate upon a participant's background or experience, as long as they meet the above-mentioned criteria and come with the intention to learn and contribute to the personal development of themselves and others. Participants who do not embody our participant profile or the values of LHA will be asked to discontinue to their practice with us without compensation. This is in the interest of safety and to avoid depriving others from learning. Free Trials > We do not provide free trials. However, prospective participants are strongly encouraged to watch a class and freely speak to our instructors directly. Visitors Visiting Time > Visitors are welcomed to watch our classes during the stipulated class schedules. However, do Contact Us first prior to your visit to avoid visiting during a cancelled class or close-door session. Our Instructors will only be able to speak with you before and / or after each session to prevent disruptions to the class at hand. Otherwise, feel free to speak to any participant you meet during your visit. |
Fees
Course Fees > Submission of course fees (for registration / renewal) must be made before a participant is secured a place in class. Late submission may result in the loss of a participant's place in class. Membership / Affiliation Fees > Participants interested in Grading must be recognized as a member of a certifying body within the Lionheart network. As such, an annual membership fee will apply as a pre-requisite. Event Fees > Participants taking part in extra-curricular events organized by LHA will be subjected to event fees. Training Equipment Uniforms > With the exception for KATA class, practicing in Karate uniform (dogi) is optional. However, participants will be required to be dressed in a dogi, affixed with the relevant insignias, should they decide to participate in special events organized by LHA and the clubs in its network. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) > Participants are not required to immediately purchase PPE upon starting their practice. However, they will eventually require them for certain contact practice including sparring (kumite). Typically, the required PPE (for sparring) are: - Head Gear (must purchase from Club) - Chest Protector (for females) - Open-finger Gloves (4oz-7oz) - Groin Protector - Shin-Instep Protector Purchasing the gloves and shin-instep protectors is a good start. Uniform & PPE Conformity > LHA recognizes specific safety and quality ratings on uniforms and PPE that have been deemed fit for its classes. While participants are free to purchase their practice equipment from a general supplier, LHA will not be responsible for any damage and injury inflicted to the participant should it occur. Hence, prospective participants are advised to consult our instructors prior to purchasing their practice equipment on their own. |
