Who is this class for?
Participants aged 7 - 14, interested to learn Karate as a means of self-defence and continued personal development as a martial art and/ or a competitive sport.
How long is each class?
60 - 90 minutes
How is this class run?
Each month focuses on a specific theme related to Karate and self-defence.
Based on the selected theme, each class is run according to a specially designed program covering the basics, Karate techniques, and conflict management scenarios, all centered around safety, respect, and teamwork.
The instructor facilitates each segment by extracting and imparting expert knowledge from his/ her Karate experience, with participants helping to uphold a culture of safety, respect, and mutual improvement.
Each class starts and ends with a routine of bowing and "meditation" (personal reflection) to acknowledge one other and appreciate the opportunity to practice.
Class time includes cleaning and maintenance of the practice space and equipment in respect to traditional Karate culture.
With regular practice, participants may choose to be formally assessed via Grading and progressively advance in their Karate study.
